A reminder of what it means to be American. The definition has changed drastically throughout our young country's history. It has evolved even more than has the land itself. We have been taken advantage of, and have taken advantage of others. We have been the accusers as well as the accused. It is time we define within our hearts what it means to be an American. It is as crucial to our identities as is our favorite songs or flavor of ice cream. It is as diverse as we are. And we cannot forget that we too, are constantly growing, constantly changing. We are adapting, we are learning. Do not forget to forgive and accept. Because when we accept, we become family. At the end of the day, that is what being American is truly all about.
